Hey, what's static.net?

static.net is a Dynamic DNS service which provides name mappings from *.static.net to IPv4 and IPv6 addresses through A, CNAME, and AAAA records. For example, you can register mycomputer.static.net to point to your IP, so you don't have to remember or type out an obscure hostname or IP address when you want to connect to your machine. This service is especially useful for Dialup, DSL, and Cablemodem users who run servers on their machines.
